Delightful dahlias

Our family is adopting a new ritual. Most Saturday mornings we go to a farmers' market somewhere and stock up on jams, relishes, free-range pork and whatever yummies take our fancy. The girls love to look at the flower stands and smell each and every posie, so we've started letting them pick out a bunch to take home.

The house looks brighter and it definitely lifts our mood. The dahlias are just gorgeous at the moment and this weekend we got a divine bunch of pink ones for our mantlepiece. Sigh.

  1. That is such a good idea. Sometimes me and my mum go to a local farmers market. Only problem is we always end up buying so much stuff!!!!

  3. Hubs and I went to our local farmers market today and I just wizzed off an email enquiring how to open up a stall. Thinking a toasted turkish bread sandwiches stall, called Cheese and Grease? :) What are you always craving on a Sunday morning? TRADEMARK / COPYRIGHT LOL!

  4. Farmers Markets are my favorite things in the world, and the flowers are one of the best parts... I think they add so much cheerfulness and freshness to a home.

  5. Top idea Alex! Our local market has THE best bacon & egg rolls - port cured free range bacon and free range eggs on super soft rolls. There is always a que a mile long for them.
