It's amazing though that a little extra sleep has made me a little less loco. Last night I got more than I had in days. Snatches of 40 min sleep really is the stuff of nightmares. Anyway, the point is, I'm feeling better. Goosey's better too. We survived our little rough patch, bring on the next!
A while ago, Skip and I went to Tassie and had just the best time. When I'm in the middle of a whirlwind of crying baby, kids tugging on my sleeve wanting something and general chaos I go back there. To those moments of peace:
Then I can deal with and appreciate the chaos. And when I'm faced with this:
Or this:
Or this:
LOL. Great post. I'd be going back to that happy place as well. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh my... you just reminded me of what I'll be dealing with again soon. The newborn stage... gah. Hang in there hon!
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteThose 3 photos ... you seriously didn't even need any words.
Love your writing. Love your blog.
... seriously love that happy place! :)
I've always thought the same thing: 'Sleep like a baby'. Pffft!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes - it is amazing how you can cope with so much less sleep since before your kids. I was like a walking zombie the first 6 mths after my eldest was born, but was functioning very well on 5 hours or so a night after the third. Even now, I need less sleep than I used to, but I could have more if I wanted to!
BTW - thank you so much for your gorgeous comment on my blog. Will DEF be keeping in touch.

Oh Corinne. I *get* this post on so many levels. And yes, the photos tell it all. I often have all 3 pixies having tantrums at the same time! J x
ReplyDeleteYes, yes it will pass.
ReplyDeleteJust like a goddamn motherfucking kidney stone.
XOX
Aaaah.
ReplyDeleteSerenity now!
Tassie (or any gorgeous quiet winery, really) is just around the corner again.
So glad you stole some sleep.
Here's to more where that came from.
:-)
Hahahahaha! I giggled out loud at your photos Corinne, you have one gorgeous bunch of kidlets there. It's funny, I wrote a similar post tonight about difficult moments/patches, specifically relating to Angus' 'tude at the moment. You are so right, it all passes and the next one rolls around and that passes too.
ReplyDeleteThankfully, beautiful memories like your Tassie trip NEVER pass, we hold onto those ones always :o)
YAY for sleep, SO happy for you hun xo
