This weekend we are taking a little break away. The kids are at home and we're at Kangaroo Valley celebrating my birthday and taking a breather before the big move.
Originally Skip and I were going to come on our own but we decided we wanted to share some quality time with a couple of friends too.
It's gorgeous and green and Australian and I'm soaking it all in. I'm trying to fill every pore with it so I can take a little bit with me.
Something has hit me this weekend and that is I'm going to have to say goodbye. To family and friends. And that's going to rip my heart out.
Yep, it's hard Rinno bit totally worth the adventure you will have. Opportunity of a lifetime.
ReplyDeleteYes, I will agree... its going to be hard, but honestly, the good times will outweigh the bad and with technology nowadays its easy to stay in touch with friends and family. Make sure everyone you love has skype downloaded and set up and work out the time difference and set up some rough times for a catch up. When we lived in the UK we had lots of friends but no family and although leaving my friends and my comfort zone and moving to Australia was hard, it has been the best decision for our family by a long shot. We are now talking about taking a sabbatical in a year or two and moving somewhere exotic for a few months, exciting!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I have been thinking about you Corinne and I can't imagine how difficult it will be to say your goodbyes. But I guess you have to remember it won't be forever... and the experience you're about to embark on is going to be magnificent. So exciting. Hope you had a beautiful weekend, it sounds blissful xo
